I’ve been watching Penny Arcade’s Strip Search as of late, and I find it oddly addictive. By reality show standards it comes off awkward at times, but I find it even more relatable! So for their Elimination challenges, artists choose 2 ideas at random and have to concoct a comic within the 90 minute time limit. Some fans of the show have been doing the challenge on their own, and posting it on twitter!
This week’s topics were Roller Skates and Dinosaurs.

Disclaimer: I actually do not know Dinosaur species. So all this is probably wrong.

Felicia Day Welcomes You to Geek & Sundry Vlogs! (by Geek & Sundry Vlogs)

Hey guys!  Today we launch a new pet project of mine: Geek and Sundry Vlogs channel!  We’ve spent a few months now searching for the right voices to put on this channel, where vloggers will talk about all sorts of subjects: Comics, writing, thumb wrestling, Jeff Lewis from the Guild…things…  We’ll be adding more over the summer (maybe you!)

Anyway, it’s a way for us to use the platform and grow new voices in geekdom rather than rely on celebrities.  I really hope you like them, please SUBSCRIBE if you do, and if you like a particular vlogger make sure to share their video!  They are starting from scratch so literally every view counts for them!

Many thanks for your support :)

A 2500 year old mummy that had some amazing tattoos.

WHAT.

NO FUCKING WAY.

YO HOLD ON.

IT GETS BETTER.

This mummy, found in the  Altai mountains of Siberia, is actually that of a young woman who died at about the age of twenty-five; she is thought to have been a member of the Pazyryk tribe.

She was buried with six horses and two similarly-tattooed men (the horned griffon that decorates her shoulder also appears on the man buried closest to her, covering most of his right side), possibly escorts. She was also wearing a horse-hair wig, silk, and elaborate boots, which is all a level of ceremony that would have likely only been accorded to a woman of high rank. You didn’t get inked like this unless you were very important, and had worked your way up to that importance.

…Hence, of course, the references to her by researchers as ‘The Ukok Princess,’ although due to the lack of weapons in her grave they have concluded that the woman was in fact a healer or a storyteller.

And now I’m all consumed with curiosity: Who was she? What amazing things did she accomplish? Why these symbols, and what did they mean? Who were the two men alongside her?

The most informative article about it can be found here, although I would completely eat up any other information you guys could find.

Not a princess.. a Khaleesi.
